Course Summary

This course is divided into two sections.  The first section is "Basic Spanish" and the second "Educator Spanish".  We do not just give a list of words and phrases.  We actually teach you how to communicate with Hispanic students and their families.  Much cultural information is given in the workshop. The course will cover the following topics:

  • Numbers, Asking Phone Numbers and Addresses
  • Family Members and the Hispanic Last Names
  • Days and Months, Dates, Scheduling Conferences
  • Question Words, Asking Informational Questions
  • Enrollment, School Materials
  • Giving Directions
  • School Staff and Rooms of the Building
  • School Subjects and Rules
  • Praising A Student
  • Testing, Talking to Family About Test Scores
  • Illness and Symptoms
  • Specific Vocabulary for: Health Room, Counselor's Office, Social Workers, and Special Education

Registration Information 

All registrations must be pre-paid.  Payment must be included to process registration.

Pre-Registration: $145 per person                                                                     
Standard Tuition: $155 when registering after the deadline or at the door (space permitting)
