Construction English/Spanish
SPANISH SAFETY FOR CONSTRUCTION
Spanish Horizons now offers 2 programs that help close the safety communication gap between workers on the jobsite.
ENGLISH FOR CONSTRUCTION (Levels 1, 2 and 3)
These 8 week courses, held once a week for two hours each, are designed to teach the English language as well as specific construction vocabulary that Spanish-speakers will need on the job site. Differentiated activities are given depending on English proficiency. These classes are in Spanish, and our ESL teachers are bilingual so that students may ask questions in their native language to ensure understanding of language concepts.
SPANISH SAFETY FOR CONSTRUCTION (Levels 1 and 2)
These 6 week courses, held once a week for two hours each, are designed to allow supervisors (leadmen, foremen, and superintendents) to call out safety commands when workers are not in compliance with safety rules and regulations. These classes also teach Spanish background and cultural knowledge to help cut down on miscommunications on the jobsite.
